Lindsey has been teaching for over seven years and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Thomas Edison State University. She is skilled in a variety of styles including classical, traditional Irish, popular favorites, American folk, and improvisation for contemporary worship. She studied classical violin and viola with Alison Breisler Corigliano of Danbury, CT, and has performed with the Danbury Symphony Orchestra. In addition to teaching in her private studio in Southington, she also teaches in the greater-Waterbury and greater-Danbury areas.
Lindsey currently studies and enjoys performing with Brian Conway, a premier Traditional Irish fiddle player based in New York. She is the 2017 champion in the Over-18 Fiddle Slow Airs competition at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Fleadh Cheoil, and traveled to Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland, in August 2017 to compete at the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil. She is the Vice Chair of the P.V. O’Donnell branch of Comhaltas Ceoltori Eireann, an organization which promotes and preserves traditional Irish music, song, dance, language, and culture. Lindsey is passionate about keeping traditional Irish arts alive.
Lindsey also performs with singer-songwriter Liz McNicholl in a series of family concerts called Liz & Lindsey: Back in Time, which include a collection of songs with Celtic, bluegrass, Americana, and folk influences. In addition to performing at both classical events and traditional Irish music events and festivals throughout Connecticut and New York, Lindsey also plays for weddings, funerals, and other gatherings.
